Turnstar recently undertook a series of plant expansions which included the purchase of a number of machines for the manufacture of gearboxes and motors. These machines were purchased from various companies and machine dealers. Now part of Turnstar’s armory is a number of CIMA P-type gear hobbers and Sykes & Demm shaper cutters. In total 11 gear cutting machines and various broaching and surface grinding machines are now being used for the manufacture of Turnstar’s geared motors which are used in vehicle barriers and speedgates. Precision is absolutely essential when it comes to gear cutting and the new machinery ensure precise and repeatable manufacturing.
