Turnstar recently upgraded Redefine’s head office in Sandton, Johannesburg, with 3 lanes of the award winning Speedgate Express. The installation included a number of challenges including the carrying out of the work outside of office hours. Over 25m of stainless steel and glass frameless handrail were installed. The handrail was fixed to the floor with an epoxy adhesive in order to avoid any damage to the finished tiled floor. Concealed wireways were added to the balustrade design for power and data cabling.
The Speedgate Express is ideal for areas requiring high levels of security combined with high speed operation. Turnstar fits the Express with heavy duty motor drive system which ensures smooth and quiet operation. Optical sensors, forming a sensor array, are fitted in strategic positions in order to ensure that a pedestrian is accurately monitored during a transaction. This monitoring forms a critical part of the anti-tailgating and general operation of the lane.
