CIPLA turns up physical security with Turnstar’s TITAN turnstiles

The organisation recently elected to install three TITAN 4 full-height single turnstiles from Turnstar to enhance its current security measures. Craig Sacks, MD of Turnstar, explains that the company chose to place one turnstile in the male’s changing room, one in the female’s changing room and one in the visitor’s access areas. All three turnstiles have a powder coated blue finish, which complements the CIPLA corporate colours, for a subtle aesthetic appeal.
“Our team of professional engineers customised the design to ensure that the expanded metal welded onto the frame of the turnstile would prevent the passing of small objects and CIPLA stock through the openings. This is especially important in an environment where sensitivity around controlled medication is naturally very high,” says Sacks.
The security rating on the TITAN is of the highest level, making it the ideal turnstile for deployment in areas where high-value, medical items are being manufactured or distributed. The system integrates with all popular access control and time & attendance (T&A) systems and allows high volumes of people to pass from one area to another in a quick and efficient manner.
“Along with the obvious security benefits, the TITAN is designed to offer customers extended turnstile lifespan, through the incorporation of a number of elements that include the ultra-heavy-duty electromechanical Rotalok® locking mechanism, the suspended rotor technology, the shock-absorbing rubber coupling system and the 100%-rated duty cycle solenoids,” says Sacks.
