Situated on the trendy and popular Long Street in the heart of Cape Town, Kennedy’s Cigar Lounge and Restaurant, has become a landmark in its own right. Recently, Kennedy’s purchased a Turnstar man-trap security booth in order to control access into the restaurant. The product was specified by Kristof Basson Architects and was incorporated into the existing shopfront.
The man-trap cubicle is ideal for institutions requiring high levels of security, combined with sophisticated aesthetics. Each door is fitted with a 500kg magnetic lock, pivots on a thrust bearing and is automatically closed by a transom door closer. No hinges are used, thereby eliminating any future hinge maintenance.
