South Africa’s largest health club chain recently unrolled and implemented additional safety measures at a number of its health clubs. The project included the fitting of Turnstar’s custom built ‘swimming pool gate’ which offers a simple and cost effective solution. The gate which is 900mm high is designed in such a way that all possible pinch points have been eliminated. The gate is fitted with a special design lock which requires two hands and can only be opened by an adult. The lock is positioned high up on the gate and requires a ‘pulling up’ action. A hidden floor spring door closer is used in order to ensure that the gate automatically closes once the person has walked through the threshold. Manufactured from 304 grade brushed stainless steel, the gate offers excellent corrosion resistance as well as superior aesthetics.
