Wits is one of South Africa’s primary institutions of higher learning and with over 15 000 students and staff, needed a new vehicle barrier solution at its various entrance gates. That’s why Turnstar was recently tasked with replacing 18 existing barriers, from various other manufacturers, with the new Turnstar Velocity Barrier. The Velocity not only has a small cabinet footprint and great looks, it also offers high speed operation from its unique SwiftDrive mechanism. The barriers are fitted with battery backup and dual channel loop detectors for increased safety.
